  1. Great I never new this site was here.
I was in a band called The Chevelles before The Frost. The Chevelles were the house band at Daniels Den in Saginaw, Mi. TWO members of The Chevelles were going for their Physicals the next day, to be inducted into the army. The other band,The Beveridge Bros.,had asked me to join them that night so after the DD show , and saying good bye to my great friends in the Chevelles, I left for Grand Rapids with them. Not knowing that we were headed for a club in Wisconsin. I heard some of their set but was in the process of leaving my hometown band.
We got to our destination and all passed out. Long night. The next day we kind of got used to each other and headed to the bar to set up. We played most of the night in a good band enviornment but at the end they pulled a WHO and everything went to hell. I Was in shock for a while but decided then I couldnt do this for to long.
We were there for a week I think. My hair was real curly and thick then and Hal’s girlfriend, beautiful gal,
decided I should straighten it and get pierced earring sooo….The hair now was on my shoulders. Also we bought some crazy clothes. Without dragging on too much longer we finally headed back to Grand Rapids. They gave me there next dates and I said I’d call when I got home. I took a bus back up north and my mother picked me up at the bus. When I got in the car, with my pierced earring, straightened hair, and my leopard jacket, my mother gave me a look i’ll never forget and said, “YOU’RE NOT MY SON”!
I was informed after the once over that my band members failed their hearing tests and were ready to get going again. Donny Hartman.
