Farmfest 2013

August 8-11

Farmfest is a relaxed and intimate music festival the second weekend of August, in the beautiful Michigan north woods, the highlight of August for Michigan folk afficionados. The Farmfest main stage sits at the bottom of a visually and acoustically beautiful natural amphitheater. The stage was crafted of wood from the barn that stood at the top of the hill. The lineup tends to feature some of the best Michigan folk-spirited acts, from traditional folk and bluegrass to modern reggae and folk-flavored rock’n’roll. Come camp on site, or drive out for the day.

Starting Thursday, and ending Sunday, Farmfest is a four-day family focused folk and traditional world music festival. Mooosical Magic happens at Farmfest… it’s a musician’s playground. Gates open on Thursday. Main stage music begins on Friday. Drum Kiva, Fire Circle Jams, Dance Pavilion Events, Parkin’ Lot Pickin’, Candle Light Labyrinth Walk, 2nd Stage Open Mic, Blow-Your-Face-Off Harmonica Contest, Kids-Kids-Kids Stuff!, Workshops, Great Food, Sacred Land.

Year number 16!

Farmfest 2013 is bound to be another record breaking year. SO many Michigan musicians are finding sponsors. We are still the best bang for your buck when it comes to Michigan festivals. Tickets are $65 in advance or $70 at the gate for your weekend pass — this includes camping. Volunteers get in for free. If you come to the gate and want to volunteer, you are required to pay the full amount, work your two 4-hour shifts sometime throughout the weekend…THEN get refunded. Volunteers are welcome to come set up camp on Wednesday. Go to our Volunteers page to sign up.

Please help us support Michigan artists! YOU (yes, YOU) might consider becoming a sponsor. Without our sponsors and our volunteers, Farmfest would be a memory. There are many bands without sponsors and we would love to help them keep the music alive. They can’t do that if they don’t get paid, folks. We need you…they need you…we need each other. Please call 989-619-3333. Sponsors receive weekend passes, an ad in the program, listings on this website, back stage access before and after your band’s performance AND authority to announce your band prior to playing. It’s a sweet gig….consider it.

AND NO PETS….We try really hard to get the NO PETS rule out there, but they come anyway…every year. PLEASE don’t bring your pets.

Hugs to All,

Stacy Jo

Old Dogs Can Learn New Tricks:

We are pushing and prodding Farmfest into the 21st century this year! We have partnered with Brown Paper Tickets for advanced ticket sales (click the button at the top of this page to purchase). We will be coordinating our volunteer efforts with the assistance of Help the Herd. And The Stage Couch TV will be on hand during the festival to record video interviews with artists and event go-ers. Watch for a link to the interviews after Farmfest is over.
