Jim Shaneberger’s Full Bio:

I’ve been playing music around here for 20 years, unbelievably. I play guitar and bass and sing lead and backing vocals. The first stage I played was Billy’s Lounge in 1996, back when Billy still owned it. My first working band was Mercurial Son. We later changed the name to the Urban Blues Union. In 2002 I moved to Southern California and played and recorded with various bands. After 2 years I decided to move back here. Upon returning I joined a rock band called Morale and formed a funky blues trio called the Funky Gentlemen. In 2007 I was asked to join the legendary Donald Kinsey‘s band on bass and vocals, which I did. Donald toured and recorded with Bob Marley & The Wailers, Peter Tosh, Albert King and many others. In 2010 I joined Flint blues man Greg Nagy‘s band. I toured and recorded 2 albums with Greg. The second of which, “Stranded” was named one of the top albums of the year by DownBeat Magazine. I also toured briefly as a fill-in bassist for The Verve Pipe. In 2013 I released my debut solo album, “Work In Progress”. Since then I’ve been touring supporting my solo project. Current band members are Jeffrey Baldus and Steve Harris. We are currently recording our sophomore album at Bill Chrysler Studios in Grand Haven, MI and gigging constantly. Come see a show!
