c1lStSoZDcvQ I am sad to hear of Al’s passing…I played with him in The Beveridge Brothers Band back around 1977-78. He called me “Rockin’Ramundo”…I learned more about the blues from him than anyone. The BB’s took me in, fed me, gave me some of the best memories of my life. Really miss those days…Wish I could of saw Al before he passed…coolest guy ever…

      Thanks for sharing that Ray.

    • I was married to Al from 1971 and 1974. He called me Turtle, I believe because as he saw me as hard on the outside, but all soft and loving on the inside. We went to countless concerts around Grand Rapids and Grand Valley, Fountain Street Church, Ann Arbor Blues Festival, etc.

I saw him last in November 2005, and we had a great karma cleanup dinner and conversation. I sent him pictures of those days and we’ve chatted a few times over the years, and I shall miss him greatly.
