EARL HYDE Personal Bio Guitar

Earl started his musical career in the third grade when his parents signed him up for guitar lessons at a neighborhood music store. He continued those lessons throughout high school. After graduating from high school, Earl completed both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Music Education at Western Michigan University where he majored on French horn. As guitarist with the KSO, Earl performed with Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Doc Severinson, and Errol Garner. He also continues to play with touring companies bringing shows into Miller Auditorium. Some of his credits include Porgy and Bess, A Chorus Line, Chicago, Fiddler on the Roof, and Hello Dolly with Carol Channing.

For the past forty-five years, Earl has performed with many small groups and also as a solo artist. He has perfected his jazz style as well as playing all styles of pop music.
